So how many seasons of Haikyuu are there?

Up to the present date, there are 4 seasons of the Haikyuu anime series, with the 4th one having two parts. With the number of volumes left, it is safe for the Haikyuu fandom to expect at least two more seasons.

For all the Haikyuu fans out there, this is the Haikyuu watch order you should follow for the best experience!

Haikyuu Season 1 (Haikyuu!!)

  • The first ever season of the Haikyuu anime, a product of Production I.G, was shown in JNN stations such as MBS, and many others on April 6, 2021. English subbed versions were also available on Crunchyroll. The Haikyuu television show’s first season reached its finale on September 21, 2014, spanning a length of 25 episodes.
  • This is where it all began. Hinata, the main protagonist, sees a volleyball match on a TV that was playing in a store. He became inspired by the famous “little giant” as he saw him play and win for his team. This leads him to get his own team together to participate in his very first volleyball match, which came against Kitagawa Daiichi. This is where he met Kageyama Tobio, who was known as the king of the court.

Haikyuu OVA 2 (Haikyuu!!: The Arrival of Haiba Lev!)

  • This Haikyuu OVA episode features the first time Lev Haiba, a half-Russian half-Japanese student, was introduced in the anime series and to the Nekoma team. Lev would prove to be an asset with his genetics despite his lack of experience.

Haikyuu Season 2 (Haikyuu!! 2nd Season)

  • The Haikyuu season 2 release date fell on October 4, 2015, which ran until March 27, 2016. Like season 1, season 2 of Haikyuu contains 25 episodes. The famous Haikyuu training camp occurred this season.
  • After all the experiences and Hinata and Kageyama joining Karasuno in the first season, they find themselves lacking in all aspects of the game, which led them to join the training camp. There, they went against teams such as Fukurodani, Nekoma, Shinzen and Ubagawa.

Haikyuu OVA 3 (Haikyuu!!: vs. Failing Grade)

  • This Haikyuu OVA episode features Hinata and Kageyama in a struggle against their grades. This requires them to participate in make-up exams and prevents them from going to the training camp.

Haikyuu Season 3 (Haikyuu!!: Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa Academy)

  • Haikyū!! Karasuno High School vs Shiratorizawa Academy is the title of the 3rd season of Haikyuu. The Haikyuu season 3 release date was on October 8, 2016, and went on until December 10, 2016. It has 25 episodes.
  •  Kageyama and Hinata’s quick attack has never been more refined, and right on time too. In this season, they face Wakatoshi Ushijima and the fierce Shiratorizawa Academy in the finals of the prefectural tournament.

Haikyuu OVA 5 (Haikyuu!!: Land vs Sky)

  •  This Haikyuu OVA episode features matches between the teams in Tokyo. This includes Nekoma, Fukurodani, Itachiyama, and Nohebi.

Haikyuu Season 4 part 1 (Haikyu!! To the Top)

  • The Haikyuu season 4 release date for part 1 fell on January 11, 2020, which ran up until April 4, 2020.
  • With Karasuno finally obtaining a hard-earned victory in the finals against Shiratorizawa, they now look to prepare for nationals both and Individually and as a team. Kageyama is invited to train for the National team, while Tsukishima and Hinata join the training camp for first years

Haikyuu Season 4 part 2 (Haikyuu!!: To the Top Season 2)

  • Haikyuu Season 4 part 2 release date was supposed to be in July 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was later released on October 3, 2020, and ran until December 19, 2020.
  • The nationals finally begin. Hinata and the Karasuno team play their hearts out for the most prestigious tournament in Japan.

OVA 2,3, and 5 all happened in the Manga. The Haikyuu movies aren’t that big of a deal, since they are all just the following season’s recaps. OVA 1,4, and 6 can also be skipped.

Haikyuu movies

Haikyuu, like many other anime series, also has a list of great movies. However, unlike other anime, the movies for Haikyuu are basically just recaps of what happened in the previous seasons. Here’s the list:

• Haikyuu!! Movie 1: Owari to Hajimari

• Haikyuu!! Movie 2: Shousha to Haisha

• Haikyuu!! Movie 3: Sainou to Sense

• Haikyuu!! Movie 4: Concept no Tatakai

• Haikyuu!!: Tokushuu! Haru-kou Volley ni Kaketa Seishun
